The 16-year old said that winning the awards was an immense honour as Usher was his mentor and he had grown up singing to Eminem’s hits.

Eminem who had received the highest number of nominations along with Lady Antebellum scooped two awards while she received one award. Usher also won in two categories. Other winners were Rihanna who received the trophy for favourite soul/R&B female and the Black Eyed Peas who scooped the favourite pop/rock band.

The awards which were hosted at the Nokia theatre in Los Angeles featured performance from artists who had been nominated as well as those who had not. Pink, Rihanna and the Black-eyed peas gave breathtaking and high energy performances that highlighted the ceremony.

Keisha gave a bizarre performance that had the undertones of a Lady Gaga performance while Diddy and his group, Diddy Dirty Money, did a number from their new album. Katy Perry’s performance was by far the most dramatic as she sang, ‘Fireworks’ with pyrotechnics aiding her act. Image Credit:
