Cadillac Escalade owners, take note. The insurance research group in the Institute for Highway Safety has reported that this is the enviable car most likely to be stolen. The official estimate says that the 11 in every 1,000 insured Cadillac Escalade vehicles owners in the United States claim insurance for theft, a record high. On an average, this enviable car is five times more likely than the average car to get stolen. But the alert can be toned down, given that the official estimate car also takes into account thefts of vehicle parts and break-ins. Though the car boasts of ignition immobilizer technology to ward off theft and immobilize the vehicle if a break-in happens, car thieves have got around this technology. The canny use of flatbed trucks makes it easy to yank off this car, despite the large size of the Cadillac Escalade. Other theft methods include getting a vehicle to push the Cadillac from behind. The Cadillac is a popular car, be it with the swish set or within the political circuit. Recently Rick Snyder the gubernatorial candidate did the pre- election rounds of Michigan in this car. He also made a weekend trip to the Burke’s Waterfront Restaurant. The latest offering from the Cadillac stable in 2011 is the much awaited luxurious model Cadillac CTS Coupe. This extraordinary vehicle comes equipped with a direct-injected V6 engine of 3.6 liter and automatic transmission with six speeds. It is a rear wheel drive car with remote start and keyless access.
