If you want to cut flab, run the delicious Hot Chocolate 15k race in Chi city but when it comes to the post race celebration, stick to flavonoid rich dark chocolate. For the feckless the after race party has yummy Ghiradelli hot chocolate, a mouth-watering fondue fountain and 150,000 delightful pieces of chocolate to dig into.

The ‘Sweetest Race’ ever in Chicago got underway on November 6, a Saturday morning and set the mood for a chocolicious weekend. The post race celebration is always epic, with mountains of chocolate live music, and entertainment which the entire family can enjoy.

The 2019 race shifted locale to Chicago’s Grant Park as the participant list swelled to 30,000 people. The earlier venue was Montrose Harbor but this year the sell-out crowd will get off the mark north of Roosevelt Road at at the west of Columbus. The picturesque route includes paths with a view of the breath-taking Lake Michigan, before returning to Grant Park.

The Hot Chocolate 15K race has Chicago and Indiana based Ronald McDonald House of Charities as partner. The other two charity partners include Pass With Flying Colors and the Team In Training of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help get marrow transplants for those suffering from this life threatening disease. So apart from the best goodie bag ever, you also run for a cause.

This year there was also a slick chocolate brown jacket for the first 25,000 entrants and hoodies if you registered later.
