The rain could not dampen Portland spirits as a swelling crowd tied up their laces for 39th edition of the annual Portland Marathon. The Sunday event which is billed as a top racing spectacle with a gruelling 21 turns on the course, had 12,000 people accomplish the feat of running the entire the 26.2-mile endurance course, while 3,000 more completed the half-marathon.
