Flirting may seem to be a very straightforward affair to most people. However, did you know that there are five different known styles of flirting? These were extensively documented in a study done by researchers at the University of Kansas, with hopes to demystify the psychology behind the dating world. Dr. Jeffrey Hall, who was part of the research team, revealed that despite picking out the five styles of writing, he paired them up with the type of relationships that they led to. Interestingly, there is no difference between male and females of each flirting style. Flirting Styles Elaborated Intrigued? Then check out the five relationship styles as the characters on Beverley 90210 portray them: Physical Flirts; Think Steve Sanders. These flirts are certainly not shy about expressing sexual interest in the person they are flirting with. They jump into relationships with both feet very fast and have a lot of sexual chemistry with their partners. They also click on a very deeply emotional level. 1. Traditional Flirts; These are flirts that exhibit a lot of old-world charm and manners. Men in this category will never attempt to date a woman unless they have gotten to know her fairly well. Women that fall into this category generally find it difficult to get men to notice them as their demure and do very little in the way of flirting, as we know it. Introverts like Donna Martin are a valid example. 2. Polite Flirts; As the name suggests, these are rule followers and flirt in a non-sexual manner (as hard as that may be to envision). Just like Andrea Zuckerman, they are cautious and take their time to approach people. However, once they get into a relationship, it becomes quite meaningful. 3. Sincere Flirts; they generally are sincerely interested in connecting on an emotional level with their targets. They are all about emotional oneness and sincere feelings.
